Hello Summer

Half of the year and summer is here. What song sticks with you when summer arrives? For me, it’s summertime by Ella Fitzgerald. Her voice on the first lyrics, “Summertime and the livin' is easy” really cools off the heat.

It’d be fun to hear your favorite summer song. Please share by replying to this email.

What’s new with health insurance? There are a few changes. Most of them are unknown, and we don’t know what the future will be or what it’s going to look like. What should we do? Let’s chill and wait to see.

Medicare GLP-1 Bridge Is Coming July 1st, 2026 through Dec. 31, 2027

Who is it for: Medicare beneficiaries

What it is: CMS pilot program for Medicare to be able to get certain GLP-1 prescription

This is good news for any of you who need to take prescriptions such as Zepbound, Wegovy, and Foundayo to lose weight.  Starting July 1, 2026, Medicare will begin a short-term demonstration called the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge.

How it works: It’s a temporary demonstration program; Medicare members must be enrolled in Part D and not already qualified for GLP-1 coverage. You will need to talk to your Provider. The copay of $50 for a month's supply is not part of Part D Prescription drug plan. Click below to learn more about how the system will work.

It’s time to update income at Healthcare.gov

Who it is for: applicant who applied for individual & family health coverage from health insurance marketplace and receive financial assistance to lower monthly premium

Why: To avoid paying back and/or an opportunity to change to a new plan

When you applied for health insurance via healthcare.gov, you input projected 2026 income. It’s half of the year and your income has changed (lower or higher) than the amount on your application. We highly recommend you update your actual income. Most often when you update your income, the healthcare.gov system may allow you to change the plan.  As usual, for our clients, we’ll follow up with you via phone call, text, and email to make sure you report correct income. Looking forward to talking to you soon.

Providence and PacificSource are exiting health insurance market

Facts: Providence Health Plan is leaving the market only individual & family, small and large group products by December 31,2026. They are in the process of selling those products.

At this present time, Providence Medicare continues to stay.  The other carrier, PacificSource is leaving Oregon individual market in. Both carriers guarantee that their services will continue smoothly without any interruption until December 31, 2026.

You can rest assured; we will reach out to our clients and prospects in October if not sooner to assist you with the replacement plan.  Talk soon!
